Description of skills
The holder of this badge has successfully completed our Backcountry Skiing Course, and has demonstrated proficiency in the following skills:
- Necessary equipment and supplies for any backcountry trip
- Telemark skiing instruction
- Avalanche awareness/avoidance
- Avalanche rescue and beacon practice
- Depending on the course, it may also teach winter camping and emergency shelter-building
