The holder of this badge has demonstrated sound judgment, strong leadership skills, and technical proficiency in:

Winter travel skills

Mountain safety, including identification of avalanche hazards (Avalanche Awareness)
- First aid (WFA or MOFA)

Basic winter emergency preparedness
WHAT DOES THIS BADGE ALLOW ME TO DO?
This badge allows leaders to lead Beginner and Basic snowshoe trips and snowshoe course related activities.
HOW DO I GET THIS BADGE?
Sponsoring committees or branches must be satisfied that leaders of snowshoe trips have competence in the above skills as appropriate for the trips they are approved to lead.
Leaders must be approved to lead trips by the sponsoring committee. Please attend a New Snowshoe Leader seminar for information, or contact the branch snowshoeing committee.
