SCOPE - WHAT DOES THIS BADGE ALLOW ME TO DO?
This badge recognizes a past scope of practice leading participants on alpine climbs, but does not indicate a current authority to lead Mountaineers climbs.
HOW DO I GET THIS BADGE?
To receive the Climb Leader Emeritus Badge, a volunteer must have earned the Climb Leader Badge. The Climb Leader Badge expires after three years of inactivity as a climb leader. It can be renewed at any time, but The Mountaineers requires that climb leaders returning after more than 3 years away go through some refreshers to ensure they are up to date on current practices.
The Climb Leader Emeritus Badge is awarded to those whose Climb Leader status has expired, and it is a lifetime badge.
