Badge
Mentor Urban Walk Leader
DESCRIPTION OF SKILLS
The holder of this badge can guide and evaluate a mentee urban walk leader as part of the new leader qualification process.
WHAT DOES THIS BADGE ALLOW ME TO DO?
A mentor urban walk leader is responsible for guiding and evaluating a mentee urban walk leader as part of the new leader qualification process. This includes, but is not limited to, accompanying the mentee leader on one or more mentored urban walks where the mentee is largely in charge of the trip. The mentor observes the mentee’s performance, and reports back to the mentee’s Urban Walk Committee.
HOW DO I GET THIS BADGE?
Qualifications and prerequisites for becoming a mentor urban walk leader vary by branch. Often, active urban walk leaders in good standing who have been leaders for more than one year and who have led a minimum of six walks for their respective Urban Walk Committee can be mentor leaders.
An urban walk leader interested in serving as a mentor leader should contact their branch's Urban Walk Committee Chair to be added to the mentor leader roster and receive the badge.
