The holder of this badge has demonstrated proficiency in the following skills, as witnessed by a Mountaineers leader or designee.

• Cleaning and racking traditional protection placed by the leader
• Assisting with transitions at belay stations
• Belaying from an anchor mid-climb 
• Lead belaying
• Familiar with rope management systems like saddlebags for rappelling and coiling techniques for improved efficiency at belay stations.
